Netflix recommendations?

I'm very, very, ridiculously late to the Netflix party.
After weeks (seriously weeks) of reading tweets, seeing comments, and hearing my friends discuss shows on Netflix…I finally caved and joined the party.

The show I've been particularly excited to see? House of Cards. If you're a regular reader, you know that I have a real love for politics because there is never a dull moment. And just about everyone I know has been raving about this show, even people who don't know a thing about politics! So I knew it had to be good.

I started my free trial of Netflix yesterday and I've already watched 7 episodes of House of Cards…so yeah, it's pretty good. After this busy week, I'm grateful to have lots of free time this weekend to relax and watch some of what Netflix has to offer.

If you've had Netflix, help me out - what do you recommend I watch?
Leave a comment with your favorite Netflix features.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Just wait until you start season two!! I binged a little too much last weekend and am halfway done. It's hard to stop once you start!

  2. If you want to stick to your political theme, Political Animals and West Wing (duh). But Orange is the New Black, Pushing Daisies (musical show), and Better Off Ted will make you laugh :)

  7. Lol welcome to the party girlie! My most recent favorite binge-worthy show was Don't Trust the B--- in Apt 23, it's so quirky and funny lol. I loved Breaking Bad, I watched the entire series in two weeks. Gossip Girl, Parenthood, and a bunch of movies, watch a bunch of movies lol. Arrested Development. Netflix also put me on Arrested Development. I can practically quote that show lol

  8. Oh yeah! Friday Night Lights! That is my favorite show in the entire universe! They have every season up there, it has such impeccable writing and beautiful character development. I think you'd love it :)

  10. There is so much on Netflix that I know I'm never going to finish watching what I want. And of course instead of watching new shows, the first thing I did was RE-watch all the available seasons they had of Glee, LOL! Then I went on to BBC's Sherlock, which was awesome. Saw some good movies on there, too, they have a nice selection of foreign and indie films. The one thing I don't like is that most of the more recent movies are on the DVD side of Netflix which you have to pay more for, but it's really not that much more, but I'm still not doing it...I'm poor. I know lots of people who do, though.

  11. House of Cards is on my list after I finish Breaking Bad. I also recommend Orange is the New Black, it's a Netflix original series. Also The Walking Dead if you like scary stuff (it's set in Georgia!).

  12. I just got on Netflix not too long ago myself, but I seriously became obsessed with Orange is the New Black, and I also went back and watched this random old show called Medium and binge watched that for a few nights. I love being able to catch up on shows I missed!

  13. I don't have Netflix but I am seriously thinking of getting on the bandwagon... I am so tired of spending the money on cable which is atrociously expensive.

Thank you so much for your wonderful comment on my blog, I really appreciate you taking the time :)
